Nothing says I love you more than a heart-shaped box filled with goodies -am I right?
Along with baking buttermilk pink donuts, I decided I’m going to start a tradition of giving my loves their own Valentine’s Day box each year. The idea came to me after giving Peyton her first box last year. I found a paper mache heart box at one of the craft stores (I forget which one, but here’s an option from Amazon) and spray painted it a light pink. I also painted a small wood heart cutout gold and glued it to the top of the box.
Now, Target’s dollar section makes it super easy to put a Valentine’s Day box together and depending on what you buy, it can cost less than $10 to put together (box and all!). I put Peyton’s box together yesterday and filled it with some stickers, heart-shaped chalk, a tic-tac-toe game, nail polish, a headband and a cute book. I have yet to put Emory’s box together, but plan on including a book, some sort of teething toy and maybe some teething crackers. His is super exciting! 🙂
As for my number one valentine, I won’t get into the details because he proofs my blog posts and unlike the other two, knows how to read.
The Valentine’s Day card is from The Ever Co, you can purchase them here.
