I love entryways so much. How cute is it that there’s an area in your house where you greet and say your goodbyes to your guests? At our last place, our apartment in Roscoe Village, we didn’t have an entryway and it bothered me to no end! We didn’t have a closet for guests to hang coats and we didn’t have space for an entryway table. Luckily our current home has an entryway, it not very big, but it’s more than we need. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate being able to hang up our guests’ coats.
Because our space is a little limited, we wanted to create an area that invited guests in with a warm welcome, but also blended well with the rest of the house. We decided to put an entryway table on the wall straight across from the door that way it’s the first thing guests see when they walk in. Our table is a neutral color (cream/ivory), and it’s pretty simple structure-wise, which makes the items we have on the table pop, and it goes well with our light gray walls. We bought our table from Kirklands – it’s not currently listed on the site, but you can find a similar one here.
My favorite part about this entryway table is that we get to decorate it with the changing seasons/holidays.This Fall, I decorated the table with a mix of antiques and items I collected from craft stores, which by the way, craft stores have really stepped up their game in the holiday decor department.
I love the pops of color from the antique books and the fabric banner. Of course, I can’t not mention our beautiful sign from the talented, Not Normal Signs. That quote speaks to me in so many ways.
