Let’s Hear it for the Boy!

After many weeks of anticipation and wondering who in the world is growing inside of me, I’m so thrilled to announce that we’re having a boy!!!

We are so, so happy. The look on my husband’s face when we found out it was a boy is something I play over and over in my head because it was so darn cute. This kid doesn’t know how lucky he is to have such an amazing father. I’m super excited to watch their relationship grow and I won’t even hide the fact that I hope he’s just like him. I mean, he is the greatest man I’ve ever known, (don’t worry dad, you come in close second) so he’s got some big shoes to fill.

Did I mention that I’m a teeny bit terrified too? After almost two years, I’ve got this whole girl mom thing down pat – the pink, the emotions, the tutus, the sweetness. I’m so used to our girly routines and bonding experience, I’m a little worried about my new role as a boy-mom. It’s just going to be different and I’m bracing myself for it.

Honestly, my worries are slim, especially after seeing the bond my sister-in-law and closest friends share with their little men. While I’ve more than enjoyed having a girl, I know having a boy will have so many sweet moments too. Annnnnnnnd I can’t believe we’ve been blessed to have one of each!! How cool is that? We each have our little buddy, and our daughter doesn’t have to share her dress up clothes just yet (unless he likes to put on a show too) – everyone wins!

Speaking of big sis, she has no clue what’s coming. I can guarantee we’ll have our rough patches, but I have a feeling her big heart will have a very special place for her little brother. We can’t wait to watch them grow and learn together (screaming and kicking included).
