Peyton starts preschool this fall and it’s such a bittersweet time. I am so incredibly happy that she gets to learn, make new friends and do her own thing, and I know she is going to thrive meeting new people; but at the same time, I can’t help but feel sad that my baby is no longer my baby. I can just picture her waving at me and being totally fine saying bye to me that first day. And while I love her for that, there will be SO many tears on my end. But boy is it going to be beautiful watching my little baby caterpillar become a big preschooler butterfly! Haha sorry, she just really likes the concept of caterpillars turning into butterflies.
School wore me out when I was younger. On the weekends or throughout summer I’d sleep until 11 a.m. (or sometimes later – yikes!) and I was always extremely hungry when I came home. Lucky for me, my mom always had dinner ready at 5 p.m. so I didn’t have to wait to long to have a big meal. Anyone else enjoy the art of snacking after school?
With the school year starting, and to cure all of the hungry little tummies out there, I put together a fun friendship mix not only for Peyton to enjoy, but for her to share with some of her friends. It’s full of salty and sweet flavors and can easily be swapped with your favorite snacking foods! I know putting the mix in little bags for her friends is going to be so fun for her.
If you end up making this mix, I’d love to see your pictures! Don’t forget to tag them with #marinamakeseats.
